“The Curatorial Imagination of Walter Hopps,”The exhibit, which spotlights Hopps’s curatorial vision, begins March 24 at the Montrose museum and runs through Aug. 13. The beer, a hops-forward lager , will be available for purchase on tap or in a four-pack at Eureka Heights, 941 W. 18th, beginning March 24 while supplies last. Cans of the beer, described as having a bright citrus flavor, also will be available at select museum events through the run of the exhibit.
Hopps, once called “the marvelous mad maven of modern art in America,” curated about 250 exhibitions in his 50-plus-year career. The new Menil exhibit features more than 130 works of art by 70 artists, many of which are recent or promised gifts to the museum from Caroline Huber and the Estate of Walter Hopps.
