) - The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office at a press conference this morning gave more details about a drive-by shooting that killed two people and injured several others Sunday night.
A stolen white Hyundai Sonata pulled up, drove by once then returned. Three armed men got out of the car — one with a long assault-type rifle and two with handguns — and took aim at a number of people playing dice.According to Simmons, there were a total of seven victims, including the two men who died. The men killed were ages 21 and 24. The ages of other victims are 11, 22, 23, 27 and 29, he said.Simmons asked for help from the community.
“When I’m talking about personal responsibility, I’m not just talking about the ones who pulled the trigger. I’m talking about the ones that knew about this — the ones that knew about it beforehand, the ones that knew about it after the fact, the ones that are helping them, the ones that loaned them a car, the ones that helped them steal a car, whoever stole the car—all of these things.
