Referring to recent stories in The Washington Post about the drop in civil and criminal penalties, as well as inspections, panel chair Rep. Diana DeGette said the lack of agency action had left a void. “It’s hard to ignore the facts. So, if the EPA isn’t enforcing our environmental laws, who is?” DeGette asked.
