“She wanted to feel important, and now, we all have to participate in this fiction that she’s a ‘doctor,’” Kelly said Monday during her SiriusXM The Megyn Kelly Show.
Kelly’s comments come after she tweeted her disgust over Biden being referred to as “Dr. Jill Biden” by the announcers at Sunday’s NFC championship game."Announcers for this Eagles-49ers game just spotted the First Lady in a box and of course call her 'Dr. Jill Biden.' That’s the truth,” Kelly said.
“I’m not actually going to do any of that!” she continued. “But I will, when Dr. Jill Biden comes on this show, introduce her by her title of choice. However, I will judge her a little and think she’s kind of needy in a way that’s unbecoming.”Biden holds a doctoral degree in education from the University of Delaware.
In 2020, a Wall Street Journal op-ed also urged Biden to discontinue using the title, noting that she is not a medical doctor.
