Emily Adams Bode celebrated the opening of her new Hester Street store with a cocktail party.
, but she has become New York’s menswear designer nonpareil. The proof isn’t just in the frenetic competition among the media for who gets to cover her and when and why—or that Harry Styles sported her cropped flannel onthis past weekend—but in the fact that any event with the Bode name on it comes with the promise of highly crowded spaces.
And so all the casually handsome dudes and babes of New York piled into Bode’s new store on Monday evening. The fawning began immediately, with klatches of people forming to discuss the fountain, the lace shirts, the fresco on the ceiling—also by Geronimas—the boxes of Budweiser, all while peeling off their smart overcoats and piling up their umbrellas on a custom corduroy couch designed by Bode and Green River Project.
