Elderly parents, neighbor and dog attacked in Vista, sheriff's officials say [Breaking]
A man was arrested in Vista Wednesday after he allegedly attacked his elderly parents, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident was reported around 6 a.m. at a house on Via Christina near Foothill Drive, Sgt. Marcello Orsini said in a new release. Responding deputies learned the man choked his mother multiple times and punched his father in the face, Orsini said. The suspect then got on top of his father and choked him while covering his mouth to prevent him from breathing.The man then broke into a neighbor’s house and attacked a small dog, authorities said. He then fought a neighbor.
Deputies arrested the 49-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder, felony elder abuse, burglary and cruelty to animals. The man’s parents were treated at the scene for injuries to their neck and face, Orsini said. The neighbor was treated for a hand injury. The dog is also recovering from its injuries.
