El Paso could see cuts to services if the State of Texas refuses to pay for inmates arrested under Operation Lone Star.

Whatever funding we can get to help with the current expenses that we have," Commissioner Iliana Holguin said. "We're glad to have because we do need that financial assistance.

"Layoffs, no, because really that is something that is the last possible option," Holguin said. "Any kind of situation that can we will do everything possible to get to that point. I don't think we will get to that point. But we may have to certainly start thinking about a reduction of other types of services."
