The number of people who have died of COVID-19 at Naperville’s Edward Hospital reached 203, but hospitalization rates and Naperville-area case counts are starting to decline, a hospital official said. From the Naperville Sun.

There were 111 people being treated for COVID-19 at Edward as of Friday, down from the record 123 reported Jan. 13, hospital data shows. A total of 121 people were admitted for the week, down from 163 for the previous week.

26,787 cases were reported in DuPage County over the last two weeks as of Thursday, down from a peak of 29,833 on Jan. 13; Dr. Jonathan Pinsky, Edward Hospital's medical director of infection control and prevention. - Original Credit: Pharmacies should soon start having greater access to prescribed COVID-19 antiviral drugs, which can treat mild to moderate symptoms in high-risk people, he said. Up until now, the pills were in short supply and in high demand, he said.
