Marco Mendicino says it is “shocking and incomprehensible” that the Correctional Service of Canada made decision to transfer Paul Bernardo.

Mendicino, a former federal prosecutor added, “I have reiterated my firm expectation that CSC take a victim-centred and trauma-informed approach in these cases. I will be addressing the transfer decision process directly with CSC Commissioner Kelly. Karla Homolka was paroled in 2005 after serving 12 years under a prosecution deal to testify against Bernardo.It’s just another example of Canada’s legal system — not a justice system — putting the rights of even society’s worst killers above the rights of their victims and the bereaved families.
