Kathy Hochul held a press conference at the University of Albany Monday, March 25, 2024, on major preparations now underway to prepare for the April 8 total solar eclipse.
Hochul convened an interagency task force that has been collaborating for the past 17 months to ensure everyone can safely enjoy April 8."We saw from the last experience many years ago that there were a lot of traffic jams and people running out of gas," Hochul explained. "We're not going to let that happen in New York. We're New Yorkers and we'll be prepared.
According to Bray, the NYS Department of Transportation, the NYS Thruway, and New York State Police will all be well-staffed for the event.
