Eagles safety Justin Evans is returning to the place where his arduous path began.
“I have no revenge towards them,” Evans told NJ Advance Media. “I love Tampa. So like I’m gonna be happy as hell to be back.”
Evans tore his Achilles and was placed on injured reserve before the 2019 season. He spent 2020 on the reserve/physically unable to perform list and was waived with a failed physical designation later that year.And he learned a few things along the way. “Not necessarily so much in football because I was dealing with depression and anxiety and like just all them things,” Evans said. “So it was just like no football things for real. It was just all life and mental.
“So you just learn a lot about yourself, and when you just got time to think all the time and you ain’t playing nothing, then you got all this in your ear and all that in your ear, it’s a lot. But it’s just life. Get through it. Learn from it. And then you grow out of it.”signed him last offseason. Evans started four games and finished with 29 tackles — which led to a one-year contract with the Eagles this past spring.
