DWP has confirmed that the first payment of £301 will be made between 25 April and 17 May to eligible households
They will be made automatically to people on means-tested benefits including universal credit, jobseeker’s allowance, employment and support allowance, income support, working tax credit, child tax credit, and pension credit.
Mel Stride, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, said the extra cash would give “a financial boost to more than eight million households” and that the Government was “[wrapping] our arms around the most vulnerable”.
