Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for all of Durham Region, warning a strong cold front is moving in this afternoon.
The temperatures will decrease dramatically and powerful winds of between 70 and 80 km/h will also develop during the afternoon and for much of the evening. The wind will ease up Wednesday night. As the temperature drops and with rain and either flurries or ice pellets in the forecast, things could become icy. You should be prepared for a slick drive home and be ready to adjust your driving to the road conditions. The weather agency says snow squalls are expected to develop Wednesday evening and paired with the strong winds, it could be tough to see due to blowing snow.
The northern part of the region is set to get 15 to 20 centimetres of snow with peak snowfall rates of two to four centimetres per hour.If you have found a spelling error, please, notify us by selecting that text and pressing
