After decades of operation, Durham Behaviour Management Services are picking a new name to reflect a wider range of services.The department helps children develop essential life skills, like communication.
Officials are highlighting collaborations with Durham Children’s Aid Society and Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child and Family Services, along with community outreach at EarlyON centres and a partnership with the province on autism supports. “We feel the new name, ‘Children’s Developmental and Behavioural Supports,’ is aligned with our commitment to access, equity and service excellence for children and families,” said Lisa McIntosh, the region’s director of children’s services. “Children’s Developmental and Behavioural Supports offers services to help reduce challenging or interfering behaviours in children and support them with developing key life skills.
