The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have begun their eight-day Caribbean tour.
Prince William and Duchess Kate may have landed in Belize ahead of the first day of spring, but the duchess wasted no time dressing for the season.yesterday, with their RAF Voyager flight landing in the country's Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport Saturday afternoon. Upon arrival, the royal couple were greeted by the Governor-General of Belize, Froyla Tzalam and her husband Daniel Mendez.
For the occasion, Duchess Kate wore a lace Jenny Packham suit, featuring a belted top with padded shoulders and a knee-length pencil skirt, in a royal-blue hue paying tribute to Belize's flag. After their official welcome from the guard of honor, which also included a 21-gun salute, the duke and duchess traveled to the centre of Belize City for an official meeting with Prime Minister Johnny Briceño. They also posed for a photo with the prime minister and his wife Rossana Briceño at the city's Laing Building.
The rest of the royal tour will see the duke and duchess traveling to Jamaica and The Bahamas, as they mark Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee year, bringing sentiments from the monarch to the people of the Caribbean.
