A 36-year-old from Barrie is facing multiple charges as a result
An evening traffic stop in Johnson Township led to a number of charges against a Barrie, Ont. resident and the seizure of two pounds of suspected cocaine.
Shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday, the Ontario Provincial Police stopped a vehicle on Highway 17 that they say was passing unsafely near the crest of a hill. Police say the driver had an unsealed container of cannabis within reach and, as police began to search the vehicle, the driver had "a medical episode." The driver was taken to hospital in Thessalon before being released into police custody.
Police say they found two pounds of suspected cocaine in the vehicle with an estimated street value of $75,000.None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
