Qantas became the latest airline to ground some of its older 737 jets because of cracks to one of the parts.

Airlines grounded planes that had cracked "pickle forks," a part that connects wings to the fuselage.A Boeing Co. 737-800 aircraft operated by Qantas Airways Ltd. takes off from Sydney Airport in Sydney, Australia.

737 planes have been grounded worldwide after inspectors found cracks in a part that connects wings to fuselages, the manufacturer said.grounded three of its Boeing 737 NG, or next generation, aircraft, it said Friday. "These aircraft have been removed from service for repair," it said in a statement.
