Program provides free and secure bike parking at Pandora Avenue and Broad Street, next to City Hall, and is available to anyone
Victoria’s bike commuters will be able to securely lock their bikes downtown again starting March 17, with the return of the city’s bike valet.
The bike valet program started last year, running from June to November. In that time, the city said, it took in more than 11,000 bikes and registered more than 800 in Project 529, an international bike registry that connects the cycling community to reunite stolen bikes with their owners. User feedback last year was “overwhelmingly positive,” the city said, with 77 per cent of people who answered a survey saying they cycled downtown more often and 82 per cent saying they stayed longer because of the program.
