He strongly supports high immigration levels and believes governments should abolish single-family zoning across the province, making it possible for all owners to build at least two dwellings on their properties.
B.C. needs all kinds of housing, for the middle classes, renters and those on social assistance, he says, maintaining Polygon doesn’t do. He’s an advocate for tall towers, even though he’s not surprised polls suggest only 17 per cent of Canadians want to live in one. While aware of the “pros and cons” of highrises he maintains they allow more room for green space than low-rises.
