Completing five passes longer than last week's biggest gain in the first half alone, Boerne High grad Quinten Dormady fueled San Antonio to a rebound win.
Taking the reins of the San Antonio quarterback job for the first time this week, Quinten Dormady wanted the Brahmas’ offense to operate just as it had through the first three games of the season, making the transition as easy as possible for the rest of the unit. But even as coach Wade Phillips and offensive coordinator AJ Smith stressed the importance of consistency in the wake of an injury to starter Chase Garbers , Dormady saw one area he could “freshen things up a bit.
Dormady’s 39-yard connection with Justin Smith on the first series set up a 5-yard touchdown run for John Lovett and a 7-0 San Antonio lead. On the next series, Dormady found Jontre Kirlin for a 43-yard gain down the left sideline, marking his sixth straight completion to open the game. The Brahmas converted the possession into a 40-yard field goal for Ryan Santoso and a 10-0 lead late in the first quarter.
