Donald Trump Will Accept GOP Nomination In Jacksonville

, FL, after it became clear that they may have to scale back the event in the convention host city of Charlotte because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Charlotte was selected as the host city for the GOP convention in 2018, giving it a two-year time frame for planning and staging. “The people of North Carolina do not know what the status of COVID-19 will be in August, so planning for a scaled-down convention with fewer people, social distancing and face coverings is a necessity,” Cooper wrote in a letter to the Republican National Committee earlier this month.
