The president has lashed out at the network several times in recent months.
Trump has denied that there was any pressure or quid pro quo in the call, despite aid to the country being held up around the time of the call.
Questioning Scalise about the upcoming testimony of US ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland, Wallace asked:"If Gordon Sondland says the president told him condition aid to Ukraine on investigating the Bidens, are you going to say that he's wrong, that he's lying?" When Scalise instead discussed the testimonies of the witnesses called by the House last week, Wallace accused him of mischaracterizing what they had said.
Trump's disappointment with Fox News appears to have been building for some time. As early as August, following polls that reflected poorly on him, the president told reporters,"I don't know what's happening with Fox," The Hill reported. "Fox is different. There's no question about it," he added, also suggesting that he did not believe the results of the poll, which showed he would lose and election if he went head-to-head with four Democratic president hopefuls; Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, and even California's Kamala Harris—whose own polls have showed sluggish support of late.
