Around 300 to 500 people are dying each week due to delays in emergency care, according to previous comments from Dr Adrian Boyle, president of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. “That has happened before – we don’t have that many private rooms in A&E. But we’re definitely seeing more of that just because we’re so limited on space,” the doctor said.“Everything that is happening at the moment is awful to see. This isn’t why you go into medicine, you go wanting to give the best care to people… and we’re not giving good care at the moment. It’s not safe, it’s not dignified.
