In 1996, Marvel and DC buried the hatchet long enough to publish the Marvel vs. DC miniseries. Pitting each universe’s heaviest hitters against each other, Marvel vs. DC was a smash hit and is credited with helping boost sales at a low point in the industry. The series may be best remembered, however, for Amalgam Comics. Midway through the event, the two universes “merged,” creating new and exciting mashups of existing characters.
Doctor Strangefate Was Weird...And This Cosplay Recreates That Flash.x.world unveiled the shoot in an Instagram post. Consisting of five photos, the shoot gives fans a comics-accurate recreation of Doctor Strangefate, right down to the ankh staff he carries. Each photo features him striking a pose, and the second uses digital effects to create the illusion Doctor Strangefate is casting a spell. Flash.x.
Marvel vs. DC Was Huge For All Involved Marvel vs. DC left a huge impression on both the industry and fans. The event was wish-fulfillment for many, and while it did little to definitively decide who was the best, Marvel vs. DC was undeniably fun.
