Disney is now guaranteed to blow past all previous records for highest box office from any studio in a single year.

Meaning nobody should expect similar box office revenue figures next year, or the year after that. In fact, as Disney focuses increasingly on direct-to-consumer content through their streaming service , so I expect we'll eventually see a future where Disney's big event films get theatrical releases while most of the rest of their content is exclusively released on Disney+ .
