Hong Kong model Abby Choi's ex-husband, his brother, and his parents appeared in court Monday on a joint murder charge after police found body parts of Choi in a refrigerator and what is believed to be her skull in a cooking pot.
The gruesome killing, believed to be motivated by a large sum of money, has gripped the city of nearly 7.5 million people and is regarded as one of the most grisly killings in the area in years. 🚨TW: Murder, mutilation of body parts
It is believed the 28-year-old victim had a financial dispute involving large sums with her ex-husband's family. pic.twitter.com/ZhJyDSicNc Police said Choi, 28, had disputes involving tens of millions of dollars with her ex-husband's family and"some people" were unhappy with how Choi handled her financial assets. Choi was reported missing last Wednesday, and two days later, parts of her body were found at a house in the city’s Tai Po district, police said. A meat slicer, an electric saw, and some clothing were also found at the home, according to police.
