Sam Jennings, who is a power-chair user, claims she was refused assistance at Clapham Junction Station after being told the ‘full-time assistant’ was on his break.
In a separate tweet, Ms Jennings says a worker, named Ricky, on the platform wanted to help her but ‘asked his supervisor if he could do it and they said no.’: ‘We’re working hard to improve the level of assistance we give our customers and we’re sorry when things don’t go as well as we would expect.
The power-chair user added that ‘several’ passengers who arrived on the platform after her managed to get on the train she’d hoped to travel on as they weren’t wheelchair users., she said the issues she faced are ‘constant’, adding: ‘I felt humiliated and frustrated because the only reason I was unable to get on that train was their assistance refusal.
