Exclusive: KingonScreen director Daphné Baiwir reveals the one Stephen King adaptation she had to cut from her documentary, despite her love for it:

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Though covering some of his greatest hits in the movie, Daphné Baiwir reveals why she had to cut her favorite Stephen King adaptation from King on Screen.

While speaking exclusively with Screen Rant for her documentary, Daphné Baiwir opened up about how she narrowed her focus to certain titles for King on Screen. The director, in particular, looked to The Langoliers as the adaptation she loves the most that she was disappointed she had to cut, and why she feels audiences "might be harsh" on the miniseries.

I think Tom Holland's movies, actually, because it was so fascinating to hear a little bit more about The Langoliers, or about Thinner. I love The Langoliers, I agree that the CGI is not perfect, and Tom Holland is the first one to say it, as well. It's all a matter of budget, actually, so a lot of time, I think people might be harsh on some films, because you're like, "Okay, but it's not the director's fault, it's because of the budget.

Why The Langoliers Remains A Cult-Favorite King Adaptation Based on an installment in King's novella Four Past Midnight, King's The Langoliers was brought to life by Fright Night creator Tom Holland and centered on passengers aboard a red-eye flight who fly through a mysterious light, resulting in the disappearance of most of them while the rest land in an empty airport sprawling with deadly creatures.

This cult following for The Langoliers has led to many calls for a remake of King's novella, with King himself even reaching out to The Boogeyman's Rob Savage with an offer to reunite again, and the director keen to adapt it again. While King on Screen may not see Baiwir get to bring the adaptation to the forefront in the way she'd like, her ideas for both a potential sequel and book of her King documentary could help introduce the miniseries to a new generation in the future.
