A three day festival is underway at Gettysburg's new "Beyond the Battle" Museum to honor the anniversary.Not only to get the costumes and the tactics and what you see right. But to get the soulfulness the inner life of these people I think that is why the film lives. The special event included a Director's Cut screening of the film, along with panel discussions with the cast highlighting its relevance in today's climate.
The film helps represent the enduring significance of Gettysburg: the place where the union was preserved.
