The Government hopes members of the public will be able to find events happening near them and get involved
As Prime Minister Rishi Sunak plans to host a big lunch at Downing Street in honour of the King’s Coronation, Brits are being encouraged to share their plans for the Bank Holiday weekend so that others can get involved in the festivities.
The interactive map will feature Coronation Big Lunches, street parties and volunteering activities that are taking place from Saturday, May 6 to Monday, May 8.Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer said: “We want everyone up and down the country to have the opportunity to get involved in the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort.
“This is a fantastic occasion to come together with friends, family and your local community to mark this historic moment.” Tens of thousands of street parties are expected to be staged during the weekend, with people urged to come together across the nation for the Coronation Big Lunch on Sunday, May 7.
