For a good 30 minutes Saturday night, there appeared to be no stopping the Ottawa Redblacks – you know, other than the end of the regular season schedule in a couple of weeks.Their own second half bumbling and fumbling combined with the muscle-flexing of their imposing opponents added up to yet another Redblacks defeat, this one a 40-27 clubbing from the Toronto Argos at BMO Field.

Now at 14-2, they should tie that next week in Saskatchewan and then have a chance to set a new mark when they visit Ottawa for the regular season finale on Oct. 28.Playing with the kitty empty for the first time after being eliminated from CFL playoff contention last Monday in Montreal, Ottawa did have its best first half of the season on Saturday.

Crum finished the night 13-of-16 for 183 yards while Kelly, who surprisingly played into the fourth quarter, was good on 18-of-28 for 287 yards and a touchdown. After scoring a grand total of 18 points in two games against the Alouetttes with still a glimmer of post-season hope, it took the Redblacks just under 17 minutes – with Crum completed his first 11 passes – to put more points on the board.
