Deputies searching for pickup stolen from Santee with SWAT gear, possibly guns inside [Breaking]
Authorities on Wednesday night were searching for a pickup truck that was stolen in Santee with law enforcement gear — including SWAT gear and possibly guns — inside of it, a sheriff’s lieutenant said.
Details of the incident were not immediately clear Wednesday night, but the law enforcement gear and the truck were believed to be the property of the El Cajon Police Department, according to San Diego sheriff’s Lt. Scott Roller.Someone apparently stole the truck just before 9 p.m. from near the 7-Eleven at the intersection of Mission Gorge Road, Magnolia Avenue and Woodside Avenue in Santee, Roller said.
Among the items believed to be inside the pickup were a bulletproof vest and “possible firearms,” Roller said, describing the truck as a silver Ford F-150. The lieutenant said a California Highway Patrol officer reported seeing a similar vehicle Wednesday night near the border, but it was unclear if it was the same pickup.
