Contaminated raw milk was sold at locations in Adams, Cumberland, Perry and Dauphin counties among others, according to a Thursday press release from the Pa. Department of Agriculture.
Published: May. 02, 2024, 7:22 p.m.The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture issued a release on Thursday advising anyone who recently purchased raw milk from Apple Valley Creamery to throw out the products due to a harmful bacterial infection., located in East Berlin, Adams County, with sell-by dates from April 3, 2024, through May 2, 2024, should be immediately discarded due to Campylobacter contamination, the release said.
Anyone who consumed the contaminated raw milk is advised to consult their physician if they become ill. The Department of Agriculture made note that reports of Campylobacter are unrelated to Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza . Pennsylvania continues to monitor for avian influenza in poultry and has not detected the virus in any dairy cattle within the state, according to the release.
