The structure will soon be completely demolished

The dismantling of the building, which served as Prince George’s primary fire hall from 1956 to 2021, began on May 25.

The Prince George Fire Rescue Service relocated to the new Fire Hall No. 1 on Massey Drive in January, 2021. According to information released by the city earlier this month, work on the site will only occur between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. The city plans to recycle all concrete, metal and wood from the building. Once the demolition is complete, the site will be used as a temporary gravel parking lot until the city’s Civic Core District Plan is completed.
