A view from Michel Simonot’s attic where the tornado peeled away his roof. Cleanup continued on Escapade Private in Findlay Creek after a tornado blew through there Thursday evening. Fences were torn down at one house as their trampoline was mangled and thrown a block away while next-door a roof was peeled off and debris and insulation was scattered everywhere. There were no injuries, but there was damage elsewhere in the area also.
Of course, I knew better; we didn’t get tornados here. I put my groceries in the trunk and continued on my way, only to learn in the following day’s paper of the destruction caused by an F3 tornado that travelled 120 km from Calabogie to St. Pascal. In Aylmer’s Pilon subdivision, it lifted roofs off houses and flattened others.Article content
