After pitching in the World Series for the Philadelphia Phillies to close the 2022 season, David Robertson, a former Paul Bryant High and Alabama standout, will be suiting up in a new uniform in 2023.
Robertson divided his 2022 season between the Chicago Cubs and the Phillies, who acquired him in a trade on Aug. 2. He had a 4-3 record with a 2.40 earned-run average and 20 saves last season. In 58 relief appearances, he yielded 39 hits and 35 walks and struck out 81 in 63.2 innings.
Robertson has pitched in 14 Major League seasons, resurrecting his career after missing the 2020 campaign following Tommy John surgery. He was an American League All-Star for the New York Yankees in 2011.
