PHILADELPHIA — David Peterson’s initial stint with the Mets this season went badly, but with a need in the rotation and no obvious answers, the left-hander will now receive another chance.
Buck Showalter indicated team officials discussed the possibility of recalling Joey Lucchesi for the spot, but the peripheral numbers strengthened Peterson’s case.
