Statistics Canada has been seeking data from Alberta\u0027s driver\u0027s licences since May of 2016.

A spokesperson for Service Alberta said the ministry is working with Statistics Canada on its application for the data, but to date no information has been shared.Article content

The ministry also noted, “should the government proceed with the application, our ministry is compelled to put out a notice of public disclosure to Albertans so they clearly understand where their information is going and for what purpose.” A September 2020 briefing note for chief statistician of Canada, Anil Arora, outlines the nature of at least three prior failed attempts to get the information.
