Dashboard Confessional's Chris Carrabba revealed to fans that he is still in the beginning stages of a long recovery after a severe motorcycle accident.

The band's official Instagram account shared a photo of the 45-year-old emo icon in a hospital bed alongside a note he wrote detailing his healing process, which will include many months of recovery. "I have not lost sight of the social issues at hand and even in the condition I'm in I find it important to state that I stand with black lives matter," he added."In the near future it is likely I will not be able to follow the news as much as I normally would. If you don't hear from me on [this] critical social issue i trust that you will know where I stand."
