They discovered ammonia
The chemical was recovered from the vehicle after police chased a man who was found to carrying Class A drugs. He had been passenger in a car which tried to evade police and then attempted to run away on foot.
The car caught the attention of officers from Blackburn's neighbourhood policing team when they spotted what they described as exchange taking place. The vehicle was eventually seized after being found to have no insurance.A spokesperson for Blackburn and Darwen Police said: "Tonight a vehicle made attempts to make off from officers after an exchange was witnessed... Unfortunately for the observations of the driver or lack of, there was a few things in the way.
"After a short foot chase officers detained a passenger who has been dealt with for being in possession of Class A drugs. The car was also seized as it had no insurance. Ammonia and various other harmful items were also recovered from the rear of the vehicle."
