Dancing on Ice fans complain over 'insensitive' breaking news sketch following Nicola Bulley case
Dancing On Ice viewers complained after the popular celebrity skating show appeared to be interrupted by a breaking news announcement. Some fans of the show thought that the skit as part of Mollie Gallagher and Sylvain Longchambon's Ghostbusters performance was 'insensitive' in the light of today's developments in the case of missing mum Nicola Bulley.
However, many viewers thought it was real. @fionasayshi complained: "Bit insensitive of Dancing On Ice to do a 'breaking news' skit when there's major events happening."@Bruschetta_Boy complained: "That was a bit stupid #dancingonice. Having a newsflash at this moment in time. Thought it was about Nicola Bulley." And another viewer said: "I thought that ITV news interruption was about Nicola Bulley.
@karistbh messaged: "Not me getting scared that was a legit breaking news broadcast ffs." @calliexmarie echoed: "Not me thinking that actually was breaking news." And @J_Barrowman_Fan said: "Naaa.. that just scared me half to death." In a statement Lancashire Police said: "This morning, Sunday, 19 February, you may be aware of police activity around the river near to St Michaels. We want to provide you with an update on that activity. We were called today at 11:36am to reports of a body in the River Wyre, close to Rawcliffe Road.
