The well-used section of trail, which runs between Agira and Sherman roads near Duncan, was damaged by flooding in the winter of 2021
A section of the Cowichan Valley Trail that has been out of commission since it was damaged by flooding in the winter of 2021 will be repaired thanks to provincial funding.
The Cowichan Valley Regional District will receive up to 90 per cent of the project’s $900,000 estimated cost, the district said in a statement Tuesday. The regional district says it’s working to get environment approvals to develop a timeline to complete the restoration. Once that’s settled, the work will be put out to tender and a contract awarded.
