With the Dallas Stars eliminating the Colorado Avalanche last night, the playoff have entered unique terrain.

Edmonton has won five Stanley Cups, coming in 1983-84, 1984-85, 1986-87, 1987-88, and 1989-90. Dallas has the most recent Stanley Cup win among the teams remaining, having last claimed the Cup it during the 1998-99 season just before the turn of the century.The league has wanted parity for some time now and this is a great example of that.
