Police described the vehicle as a GMC pickup truck, 2005-2010 model, that appeared to be black in surveillance footage released by the department. About 3:35 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a major crash in the 300 block of South Marsalis Avenue, and found a man who was struck on the sidewalk nearby, police said. That man — who police did not identify — died from his injuries at the scene.
Police said investigators determined an unidentified suspect drove off a parking lot at Marsalis Avenue onto the Interstate 35E southbound service road before making an improper left turn at Marsalis Avenue, running onto the sidewalk and hitting the [email protected] Stoppers is also offering up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment for the offense or other felonies and may be reached at 214-373-8477.
