Senior Cpl. Gregory Ceraso and Officer Jazmin Ceraso were terminated during a disciplinary hearing, Dallas police officials confirmed.
Gregory Ceraso was also accused of “being involved in multiple disturbances which resulted in police responses,” a police spokeswoman said without elaborating.Details about the family violence allegations were not immediately available, and the department did not answer a question about whether either officer had faced any criminal charges. They filed for divorce last year, which appeared to be finalized last month, according to court records.
“Our officers are humans, too and are not immune from marital hardships,” Mata said. “We hope that both find peace and can move forward in their lives separately.” Gregory Ceraso had been with the department since 2008 and was assigned to the tactical and special operations bureau. His LinkedIn profile said he was a police dog handler and had experience in the gang unit.. He was accused twice of inappropriate or unnecessary use of force and an illegal search, but one of the use-of-force accusations was not sustained and he was exonerated on the other two allegations, the records show.
