The Dallas Cowboys are signing a star linebacker out of the UFL, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The Dallas Cowboys are making a free agent signing. On Tuesday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported the Cowboys plan to sign All-UFL linebacker Willie Harvey Jr.Harvey worked out with the Cowboys last week, and clearly made a good enough impression to earn a contract.Harvey, 28, attended Iowa State University from 2014-18. He was named an Honorable Mention All-Big 12 member three times and then went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft.
The Cowboys do have some question marks at the linebacker position following the retirement of Leighton Vander Esch. Back in March, Vander Esch officially retired after struggling with injuries throughout his career.'I realize that I am no longer able to adhere to the unwavering standard of excellence that professional football demands,' Vander Esch wrote in the Cowboys' press release in March. 'I say this with a heavy heart: I am medically retiring from the NFL.
