Dallas County’s top election official steps down after three years of implementing major changes.After three years as Dallas County’s top elections official, Michael Scarpello has announced he is retiring effective Dec. 19.
Throughout his time at the helm of Dallas’ election rollout, Scarpello brought huge changes to the department, but not without elected officials’ concerns. Scarpello has revamped equipment training and communication between election workers and the department on election days. He brought innovation, Coleman said.
