Dakar team rolls, finishes stage on three wheels, gets towed back by rally truck.
It would be an understatement to say that the Dakar Rally, the world's premier rally raid event, is hard on cars. Long-time Tom Coronel and his co-driving brother experienced some of the worst of it on Saturday, rolling repeatedly after hitting a sandbank about three miles from the end of a stage. The crash destroyed the left-front corner of the car, in addition to damaging other components.

Coronel and his brother successfully limped the car to the finish of the stage, but the next service area was still 58 miles away. That's where the No. 507 truck of Pascal de Baar came in. That No. 507 entry is 28 hours back in their class and capable of towing a racing car, so the truck simply hooked the front bumper of Coronel's car to the rear of their truck and towed it the distance necessary to actually stop for repairs.
