Monday marks the first of four public hearings for SDG&E customers to weigh in on a proposed rate increase beginning in 2024. SDG&E says it is part of a new budget proposal to the CPUC.
SAN DIEGO — San Diego Gas and Electric is asking its customers to weigh in on the idea of a rate increase which would start next year.The schedule for the virtual and in-person meetings can be found here, as well as how to provide public comment.SDG&E proposes a new budget every four years and allowing public comment is a part of the judicial process.
Since then, Grant has"boycotted" the company, refusing to pay her bill and conserving as much energy as possible.Her bill for February decreased by roughly $200 dollars."I think the only way that this is going to make a difference is if people don't pay their bill. Unfortunately, money talks," said Grant.“We recognize there is never a good time to request a rate increase.
The monthly average increase for customers would be $9.16 more dollars for the cost of gas and $8.45 more for the cost of electricity.
