"I know I'm getting older, but seeing tapes of past Briers just makes the hair on my arms stand up," he said – Sep 15, 2023Curling Canada is headed to Kelowna Friday for what they’ve described only as an “important announcement.”
While the announcement doesn’t indicate what would bring officials to the Southern Interior city, it’s reminiscent of 2019 when they announced the Tim Hortons Brier heading to Kelowna for 2021.That event was ultimately cancelled due to logistical and health concerns during the pandemic, though organizers said at the time that there was a commitment from Kelowna to host again one day in the future. The announcement will be made in tandem with some more world-class curling.
The last time Kelowna hosted the annual competition was 1968, with Alberta’s Ron Northcott taking the title at Memorial Arena.
